Have you every taken a stroll through the cemeteries of Poblenou or Montjuïc?
You will find monuments great artistic and historical value there, as well as a discovering part of the city's history. Family vaults like those of the Amatllers or Batllós, or tombs of such luminaries as Ildefons Cerdà, Joan Gamper, Josep Maria Folch i Torres, Isaac Albéniz, Salvador Puig i Antich and Lluís Companys are just a few examples of what you can find in Montjuïc Cemetery.

Technology for offering even more information
And now, if you fancy taking a stroll through Montjuïc Cemetery on your own, you will be able to use not just the maps provided at the entrance but also QR codes, which will give you even more, and better, information on routes through the cemetery.
All you need is a QR code-reading application on your smartphone. Once read, they will bring up a page with information on the history of each funeral monument, as well as details on their sculptors and architectural style, in four languages: Catalan, Spanish, English and French.
These symbols can be found at the entrance to the cemetery (beside the chapel) and at various notable points on the Montjuïc cultural route. QR codes are also available at the Poblenou Cemetery, where they have been in place since the start of the year.
