Sant Joan’s Eve

June 23 is approaching , the most magic and short night and the city prepares itself to go out to the street.  Also known  as the Fire night,  it is said that the witches and the spirits are more perceptible than never

The “ verbenas “(festivals), the petards, the coca and the cava  to celebrate that the new summer solstice is arriving

It is time to burn everything old, and give the welcome to the summer !

We indicate you some of the verbenas (festivals) that will be distributed by the whole city  that you could choose where to enjoy  the Night of San Juan

Each neighborhood organizes its own festival, but nowadays most of the young people prefer go to the beach

In Barceloneta  Square and streets around  you will find activities from 17:00 to 23:30 and at  03:30 am. There will be a concert in the  Paseo Marítimo

In  Sants Montjuic, arriving of  the  Canigó Flame at 20:30. Later  music with the orchestra  in the  Sortidor Square . The ignition of the bonfire will take place in the  Cal Sèbio gardens at 21:30 h.

In  Gràcia,  in Camprodon street from 22:00 h.

In Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, dinner, concert and festival in  Orlandai  House (C Jaume Piquet 23) from  21:00 h. Ticket entrance 10 €

In Horta-Guinardó,  Casal de Entidades Mas Guinardó (Pl. Salvador Riera 2)

In Nou Barris,  Casal de barrio de la Prosperitat (Pl. Ángel Pestaña, 1) at  24:00 h

In   Eixample, Gay Festival in  Pasaje Valeri Serra (Pje Valeri Serra, 23) from  22:00 h

In  Sant Martí, festival and bonfire in  Bilbao  Street , corner to  Concilio de Trento from  22:00 h

In  Ciutat Vella, festival with  capoeira and the  bands  “Born 54″ + “pulpito y suspensión calamares” + “Afrochi Guawa”, in  Paseo Lluís Companys, 7. Also in the  Plaza Real with “Barcelona Big Blues Band”. You could taste coca and  cava in the  Santa Caterina  Market at 11:00 h am . In the Folch i Torres Square you will be able to dance and have dinner

In Sant Antoni, at 21:15 the Flama del Canigó arrives to  San Antonio, with a performance of the “diablos” , the manifest reading  and the ignition of the bonfire
